Argenta publishes updated 2025 Green Bond Framework and European Green Bond Factsheet

17 October 2025

  • Argenta publishes European Green Bond Factsheet to support its sustainability ambitions
  • Argenta is the first Belgian financial institutions to publish a European Green Bond Factsheet

In line with its climate ambitions and expanding green financing programme, Argenta has published its European Green Bond Factsheet together with its updated 2025 Green Bond Framework.

Argenta‘s Green Bond Framework is aligned with the latest International Market Association (ICMA) Green Bond Principles (GBP) 2025.

Following the publication of its European Green Bond Factsheet, Argenta may for future issuances of green bonds, seek alignment with the European Green Bond Standard. Argenta reinforces investor confidence, enhances transparency, and ensures its financing activities deliver measurable environmental impact.

The European Green Bond Factsheet was independently reviewed by ISS Corporate Solutions and assessed as fully aligned with both the European Green Bond Standard and the ICMA Green Bond Principles. ABN AMRO acted as sustainability advisor for both the Factsheet and the updated Framework.

Proceeds dedicated to green housing and the low-carbon transition

Proceeds from Argenta’s green bonds will be allocated to its residential real estate mortgage portfolio, in line with EU Taxonomy requirements, financing or refinancing green mortgage loans for energy-efficient homes. This allocation supports Argenta’s commitment to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.

As healthy living is central to Argenta’s strategy, the bank has long encouraged customers to invest in energy-efficient housing. This focus has enabled Argenta to build a substantial portfolio of green loans, forming the foundation for its Green Bond Framework.

A step forward in Argenta’s sustainability journey

“The updated Green Bond Framework reflect Argenta’s long-term vision to combine financial strength with sustainable impact,” said Stéphanie Dangreau, Sustainability Manager at Argenta. “By aligning with the European Green Bond Standard, we strengthen our role as a responsible bancassurer committed to financing energy-efficient homes and contributing to the transition to a low-carbon economy.”

The updated Green Bond Framework underlines Argenta’s ambition to be a healthy bancassurer for its customers in the long term, driven by transparency, resilience, and sustainable growth.
